Chef Mickey Josephs’ love for cooking started in his childhood home in Jerusalem. The delicious daily dishes his mother and grandmother created – infused with the savory spices and rich textures of Mediterranean cuisine – left an indelible mark on his palate and inspired his cooking for years to come.

As a young man, Mickey set out to hone his raw talent by educating himself and cutting his teeth in kitchens around the world including the renowned Il Capriccio Ristorante. When The New York Times raved about his first restaurant in Old Saybrook, Connecticut two months after opening, he knew he had arrived as a legitimate player on the highly competitive culinary scene.

Chef Mickey eventually landed in Hamden, Connecticut and created Mickey’s Restaurant & Bar, one of the most successful restaurants in the state. After a fifteen-year run, Mickey found himself craving a climate closer to his Israeli roots, so he packed up and moved his family down to the Sunshine State.

He had briefly enlisted The Flying Ivories Dueling Pianos in Connecticut where their singular brand of all-request, adults-only music and comedy was thrilling audiences weekly. Now he’s brought them, along with a brand new mouth-watering menu, to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Come see what it’s all about.
